How do i get plants to wiggle? (not wind) wiggle

Hi Folks!

I have made a few meshes now… and made them wiggle using the smallgrasswind node on the material for the leaves.

But now… I would like the leaves to “flap” up and down… like wiggle their leaves up and down. How do i accomplish this?

I made the plants using this method.


Already imported them in UE4 added wind…
But yeah, so how do i get the leaves to flap up and down? Like a flower closing and opening for example?
Can this be done inside UE4? Does this have to be done by rigging? How i do it? What would be your approach on this? I use 3DsMax, UE4 & Photoshop. Thats all i have.

Hi, I know the question is pretty old buy maybe it helps someone else.
You can use morph targets with a start and a finish position and control them with blueprints.

You have a quick 3dsmax tutorial here.
Just remember to add a root bone and import as skeletal.

If you can spend some money there is a tutorial covering exactly that here. It uses maya but is almost the same.
