Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

How make dynamic shadow (Stationary light)

Hello Community

I open the blank project with this 2chairs and table. Direct Light is set to stationary and if I change a chair to movable and bake the lighting. The shadow of the chair disappears.... And in the details section for the chair under Lightning cast dynamic shadow is checked and for the directional light cast dynamic shadow is checked.

So why is there no dynamic shadow for the movable chair??????

thanks a lot.

Hey Gygoracdes -

A Stationary Directional Light produces two types of shadows, a Dynamic Shadow which only renders with a set range of the object casting and the player's camera, and the Static Shadow which renders past the Dynamic Range. This Range can be altered by adjusting the "Dynamic Shadow Distance Stationary Light" settings in the Light's Detail Panel.

Since the item is movable it will not ever cast a Static Shadow and will not have a shadow after a certain distance from the camera, assuming that is what you have setup.

I think that this is your problem, either adjust the Range Parameter or ensure that the camera is close enough to the actor to render shadows.

Let me know if this doesn't fix your issue, feel free to also post screenshots of the issue as well

Thank You
