[Question] Apex Debris falling speed

Using PhysX Lab i fractured a geometry and brought it in Rocket. Everything works fine but the falling debris is a bit slow. How can i increase the gravity for Apex Chunks?

In addition to that, is there a Mass/Weight setting somewhere for Apex Chunks so larger chunks will fall faster than smaller chunks.

along with Satheesh’s question

I’d also like to know

What version of the Apex technology will the upcoming Rocket release be using? ie, what version of PhysX lab can we use? I’m still using 1.1,

I heard that Nov 2012 UDK supports 1.2

What version will upcoming rocket support?

Am using PhysX Lab version 1.1 which uses APEX 1.2.1.

I love Apex physics lab

Though James G mentioned that the Apex integration in rocket turns apex pieces into a single skeletal mesh actor because the render bottle neck was due more to number of actors being drawn than anything else

So not sure if apex lab is even the best way to go.

Cant wait to here what version of APEX upcoming rocket release will support!

You can have a look at it when I get back home at Trivandrum next time

haha…you are Nevermore Zach??

Yep

Nice Jeffy

Hey Satheesh

I’m using PhysX lab 1.2.3 with PhysX 3.2.3

For my apex meshes I’ve put the default chunk speed as 0. And it works out well for me. I do not feel the chunks are slow like what you have mentioned.

By the way… any two objects dropped from the same height under the influence of gravity will hit the ground at the same time (I just tested this with my bank cheque book and my Lumia phone ) , unless you are calculating surface area and air resistance all those  … Cheers!

Thank you Jeffy. I’ll download PhysX Lab 1.2.3.

LOL…If that Lumia phone is not broken, send it to me so i could personally test it and see if you are right. :stuck_out_tongue:
