Resolution detection is broken on iOS 8

Hey, i am reporting bug.

Since i updated my iPad Mini to iOS 8.0.2 (dont know if 8.0 does it too) and my Unreal Editor to 4.4.3 (could not upload to iPad with version 4.0.0) the resolution of app is broken on this device.

The application does not occupy whole screen, as it used to be…

In the recent history it worked correctly just out of box…

So obviously some internal function needs to be updated, or is the problem only with my iPad? After i connect the iPad to my Macbook i see error, that the device cannot be synced, this error is appearing from yesterday. I am not sure if is it related with resolution bug, i believe that no.

As you see on the image, there is a black space on the right - the whole resolution is not used.

Hey lukas84 -

We are aware of this issue, its related to the device not detecting the landscape versus portrait rotation and this has been fixed in the next release of the engine.

Thank You

good. thx.

btw, but this is bug exists throuhg many UE versions, if in moment of deploying to android tablet the tablet goes to sleep mode, then when the deploying is finished, it is used like 1/4 of screen. so then you have to keep the tablet alive manually while the ue is deploying - and it is quite long time.

so the fix could be, either prevent tablet to go to sleep mode when the deploying started, or get the screen resolution when the deploying starts, or what is causing this error.
