FPS drop with Matinee Movie

Lag can occur if your system isnt good enough, but you wont see any lag in the final output. The same goes for the looks. The final result will look and play as normal.

Hey, I’m recording a FPS gameplay footage with matinee.
But when I launch the matinee movie to record.

The whole map looks really crappy (no post-process and it’s added before i guees) and it’s lagging as hell.

When I use the “play” button in the editor, everything is fine.

How can I get ride of this disturbing lag ?

I’m working on: Unreal Engine 4.4.0

Thanks

Jacky, you again ;).
Well my PC isnt old…

Core: Intel Core i7 3770K - 3.50 GHz
MB: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. P8Z77-V Rev 1.xx
RAM: 8 Go DDR3
CG: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670

It must be enought no ?
If I “cook” this part, it will be laggy like that for the player ?

Basicly, when I record.
UE4 take 20% of my UC.

Yeah, it should be fine. What resolution are you recording at?

And if you record it and even if it lags like 1 frame per second, you wont see any of it in the recorded video, but it will just take a bit longer to record.

Well, one last thing that comes to mind is your storage. Try to record on an SSD if you arent already.

1920x1080. AVI
About the FPS, I tried 25-30-50.

Yea, but it’s a FPS gameplay footage. So, when I look left/right too fast, and my movement “camera” are wierd because of the lag when I record :frowning:

I’m recording on a SATA III.

Maybe it’s because my scene isn’t optimised ? I have a tesselated ocean with reflection
But it works well I “simulate” so…

What FPS do you get when you normally play in the level?

Around 40+

Okay. Since my level in tiny. I created an executable, then record with “ShadowPlay” (from GeForce).
I hope it will help.
