Unable to start launcher on OS X

Hi,

Since the last few launcher updates I have been unable to run the launcher on OS X. It just appears in the dock and then hangs. Running from the command line gives me the following:

Attempting to get the command line but it hasn't been initialized yet.

I have tried completely removing the following directories:

  • /Users/Shared/UnrealEngine
  • ~/Library/Application Support/Epic
  • ~/Library/Preferences/Unreal Engine

and removed and redownloaded the launcher from scratch, and the problem still occurs.

I’m running OS X 10.9.4.

Please try the troubleshooting steps linked below. Afterwards if the issue is still present, follow the steps at the bottom of the page to find your ‘Verbose Logs’ and post them here. They will help us track down the issue. At the bottom of the ‘Verbose Logs’ section, there are additional instructions for Mac.

Hi,

The launcher wasn’t even creating any log files. However, I’ve managed to fix it - there seems to have been some problem with UE4EditorServices, after removing ~/Library/Services/UE4EditorServices.app the launcher is working again.
