4.5 preview es3.1 issue

I tried to package the reflection level(and othe levels) with es 3.1 but it crashed on my tegra k1 (miPad) device…What’s the problem?Thanks!

I download the newest 4.5 preview via launcher and in this build i cannot even find the package branch for es3.1.How can i enable es3.1 feature in the packaged game targeted for tegra k1?Thanks!

I also find a severe issue:i packaged the DXT and ATC for k1 and Qualcomm 800,they both crashed on my mobiles…When i use 4.4,everything works well and they can run the game smoothly.

I had some issues when trying to deploy a project to a tegra k1 device until i update my Nvidia version to 3.0. Here is a link to there site: Game Development Tools, SDKs, and Partner Engines | NVIDIA Developer.

I got it to work by uninstalling the 2.0 version of the Android Development pack, deleting the NVIDIA folder from the C: drive, restart your PC, and then install the new sdk.

You may want to try this update as it may fix your problem.

thanks i tried that then i package game(dxt)but still cannot get that es3.1 effect on my k1
There are 2 other questions:
1.i cannot find es3.1 option in the package project->android options,is there a step by step instructions on how to use es3.1 effect on k1?
2.my project that has umg created in the 4.4 sill crashes on my android devices while it works well in the 4.5 preview’s mobile previewer.

Like Sean said update you Nvidia pack also change your drivers for the adb. Uninstall the old ones reboot and reinstall. Make sure everything is on the C: drive. Sounds odd but every time I install the NVpack to anything but the c: It fails to package the game correctly.

I update the 4.5 release but cannot find any specific settings to enable es3.1 on pakaging for k1 devices,and i tried package DXT,but that does not have es3.1.Is there a more specific instruction on how to do this?Thanks!

Thanks very much! I rebuild the ue4 and see the es31 in the editor,and successfully launch the reflection subway on my mipad with es3.1 effects
however,there are 2 lite issues i come across
1.after the game launches ,the sound start first and i cannot see the graphics(which appears black screen) unless i return it too the desktop and press the game icon again.
2.i package my own game with es31 and it crashes on my mipad,i dont know why it can run the reflection demo while cannot run my game…It seems that some projects can be packaged well and others cannot with es31.

also i tried the shootergame it just crashes.I think the es3.1 maybe not support c++ project

We have seen that kind of issue with the game starting black until you background it, there is some strange context issue. I will try to find out what that was, I thought it was fixed.

What crashes are you seeing? 31 is pretty new, so I’m not surprised there are some issues. I don’t think we have actually tried ShooterGame here with it yet.

More info is always better (adb logcat logs, etc).

The log file looks cut off and doesn’t show any problems…

If I understand you correcly, you modified UEBuildAndroid.cs, PlatformInfo.cpp and Engine\Build\JunkManifest.txt to be able to compile and package for es31?

Can you try to get a new log file that shows more, using adb logcat that includes all system log as well?
