Problem animating while using the Rigging Toolkit

A problem seems to have arisen while I’m trying to do a simple walk cycle in Maya using the Animation and rigging toolkit. Half way through, the rig started behaving strangely. I’ve resorted to deleting every single one of my keys and resetting the rig to default using the command in the ART tool. The problem is, from frames 0-5 the ELBOW is in FK mode and then from from 6-40 it snaps into IK mode. There are no keys at all left to delete and when i press play the ELBOW snaps from FK to IK ruining all animations I create.

Any help would be apreciated.

EDIT: After scrubbing to keys 1-5 and sets into to IK and deleting the keys it creates everything is IK now but the hand is still twisting from 0-5 then snapping back to normal again for the remainder of the keys. :S

You’re going to want to find the Rig Settings node. You can access it by clicking on the red arrow in the UI toolbar here:

This node has all of the settings, including what modes the limbs are in and so on. My guess is you have some keys here giving you trouble.

Hi Jeremy, thanks for the reply. I’ve actually solved the problem now. It seems you are right but it didn’t seem I had any keys to cause this problem though. The solution was to select the whole right arm at frame 1 and change it to IK then delete the key it created. Then go to frame 5 reselect IK on those joints again, then also delete that key. My animation seems to be running fine now. Weird occurrence and thank you for your help.

Danny.
