Video driver crashed and was reset

Every time I try to open the editor, it will crash. The error message says, “Video driver crashed and was reset. Make sure your video drivers are up to date.”

This happens across the board, and I am unable to open any previous projects or create any new ones, regardless of what assets I try to load in, if any.

My specs are
Nvidia GeForce 630 GT
Intel Core i7 860@2.80Ghz
16 GB RAM
Win 7 Enterprise

Currently running the 344.11 drivers from Nvidia.

Problem started Wednesday morning. Nothing different was done between Tuesday and Wednesday.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling both drivers and editor to no avail.

I have also tried the “disable scalability” fix, also to no avail.

Is this crash occurring when you try to open the Launcher or when you try to open the Editor from the launcher (or open the editor directly from the .exe)?

It’s when I try to open projects in the Editor, from the Launcher.

The editor itself opens. Once I pick a project and say open, it crashes.

Launcher—>Editor—>Select project—>CTD.

Can you go into the project folder of the project you try to open and in the Saved->Logs folder, attach a copy of the latest logs? You may need to add .txt to the end of the file for AnswerHub to accept it.

I have submitted this crash to our internal tracking system (TTP #349277) for further investigation. For the time being you may want to try reverting to a previous version of the video drivers to see if that helps.

Just to follow up, it looks like the ultimate cause was a video card failure.
