display what oculus dk2 see on my screen

U_u i need see what my user see in the oculus, but i have weird problems in oculus DK2 in the oculus configurator utility i set my Rift display mode to “Extened desktop to the HMD” because if not, i cant use full screen on unreal standalone even when i packeting.
i try to duplicte my screen and the oculus in the windows options but is weird again, my duplicate screen show a rotate screen =) like portrait style, y if a change to normal landscape now in my screen all its fine, but my oculus are now rotate 90° T_T which is not cool.

Hey zkarma-

The screen rotation is caused by setting the Oculus to Extend Desktop to the HMD option in the Rift Display Mode. If you set the mode to “Direct HMD Access from Apps” and launch a standalone game, you should be able to press Alt+Enter to fullscreen the standalone window and display in the Oculus at the same time.

Cheers

hello , thanks but not work for me
this is that i get:
when i use Direct HMD access in fact i got the screen with same oculus and screen is very cool the problem is when i press alt - enter i cant enter to full screen the thing just rezise the window to fill my resolution and i have a very horrible motion sickness

but when i use Extened desktop to the HMD i have a real full screen when i press alt enter and i have a happy cam running to 40 fps, unfortunly i have the screen rotate problem T_T is not cool

i using UE 4.4.3 with the lasted runtime release for oculus

The screen rotation issue that you’re having is a limitation of the Oculus, not UE4, so we aren’t able to do anything in that regard. You may want to try using monitor/display modifying softward such as Display Fusion to help.

yes oculus have a lot of problems yet, very thanks ,
i solve this using Open Broadcaster, because anyway i need stream video,
is a “creative solution” please dont hate me !

I found a very simple solution for the Oculus DK2 with Direct HMD Access mode on Windows 7.
Just create a package of your game as usual and then call the executable with “-FULLSCREEN” commandline argument (or create a shortcut to the executable and append the argument to the target field).
