Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

[BUG] Opening Force Feedback Effect asset opens new window every time

I've created a Force Feedback Effect asset for a project I'm working on; and I noticed that when I already have the asset open in a window to edit it, and I double-click on the asset in the Content Browser, the Editor opens a new window, instead of switching to the already open window.

I was able to open 15 windows for the same Force Feedback Effect. I then created a new Force Feedback Effect, and was able to open 11 windows for that one. I took a screenshot of the issue, and will post it below. I didn't want to open any more windows, because I'm not sure how many windows the Editor can have open before crashing, and I didn't want to lose any work.

Hey Jonathan,

I was able to reproduce this in 4.5 Preview, but it appears this has been fixed in our internal build. I expect this will no longer be an issue in 4.6. As an aside, I was curious to see how many tabs of the same asset I could have open and I got well over 100 without crashing, so I don't think you need to worry about that too much. Thanks for reporting the issue!

Over 100?! That's dedication! Thanks for looking into it.
