How do I animate a skeletal mesh?

I have imported a skeletal mesh and wonder if I can animate it and how this is done. Can I use an animation I already have in my content browser and import/superimpose it over the one I have imported?

Thx

Create your animations in your preferred 3D modelling program. Maya, 3DS Max, Blender etc. Export the animations as .fbx and import them into UE4

Thx - so if I already have an .fbx file with animations from previous characters - is there a way to imoprt it to my existing skeletal mesh? I am new to this and need som details or a videotutorial to understand.

No problem. If you already have the .fbx with animations then simply import it into UE4, When you import an asset you will see there is Static Mesh, Skeletal Mesh and Animation. Firstly, import your character as a skeletal mesh, then import your animations after that under Animations. This might help! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyYTYF0G5Kk
