UnrealEngine4.5-Preview-Fedora20-x86_64 Obj-Fbx Import Problem

There is a problem when importing both .obj and .fbx files with the import dialog not showing any of the import options.
is this is a known issue ?

Hi Samir,

I’m following up to see if you are continuing to experience an issue with the import dialog not showing any of the import options. If so, have you tried updating to the 4.6 version of the engine? This latest release contains a lot of fixes to reported bugs as well as a lot of great new features.

If you are not able to update or are still encountering the same problem after updating, please let us know by responding to this post and we will investigate the matter further.

Thanks

Hi, thanks for reply…
right now I have unreal 4.6 latest-preview branch (not actually latest, files downloaded a month ago), and it still has the same issue with import options not shown, I will download and build the new latest-preview and post the result here.
thank again.

Interestingly enough I cannot repro this internally using the latest main branch. I will check whether github sources/files miss anything essential.

Hi Samir,

I have not been able to reproduce this issue either and I’ve tried importing a test fbx a number of different ways (ie: drag and drop from the desktop into the editor window verses using the import button and navigating to the proper directory.) I’ve also imported the test fbx from a number of locations including the desktop and the project folder and others…

This leads me to ask how are you creating your fbx? Does it include animations or skeletal meshes? What happens if you hit “import all” from the image above -do you get any errors? Any additional information you can provide will help isolate the issue.

Hi RCL,

I Can confirm this has been fixed along with many issues on Fedora-21-x86_64 and UnrealEngine 4.7 (Downloaded today).
Actually, I feel like the engine is stable enough on fedora now to do a test project.

Thank you guys.

Glad to hear! GL & HF
