Why isn't there more documentation on VR?

You should post this at Feedback for Epic section of the forum.

I understand that there are TONS of video tutorials for UE4, but VR based material isn’t as prominent and I think that the more information that is available, the more we are going to see some amazing material arise!

I have asked myself the same question. There really isn’t a standard for what VR is supposed to be. No one really knows that just yet. VR may not be the biggest priority to epic as the other aspects are. I think that Jacky is right in saying that you should give feedback. I will as well. The higher the demand for VR documentation that higher priority it will receive. As it comes to the community, I am assuming that we are all new to VR so there isn’t really that large of a knowledge base out there. Most people don’t have the experience and we are still learning the basics. Give it some time and there will plenty. Experiment yourself and share what you find. VR is coming and its exciting to get to be a part of building it.

Hey ROMAD-

I have submitted your feature request for additional documentation on virtual reality (UE-5326). Hopefully the information in the link below will be helpful to get started in creating your project: A new, community-hosted Unreal Engine Wiki - Announcements - Epic Developer Community Forums

Cheers

Hello Grixis, You are someone who actually responds to people (!!!) I have asked 4 times, but because I am new I don’t get any answers (paradox!) and I can’t think how to even word my question for search…

Unity has a PLAY button that lets you preview a VR APP. Unreal doesn’t seem to have that, Only a VR Editor that has controllers but no Hands (you can’t test Touch and Picking Up) and the controller is pre-programmed with Lazy Lazer etc… so you can’t test firing etc)
They must have realized this. How do I test VR?

THANK YOU!!! ;~) Do you like Star Trek? I can give you VR Trek gifts for helping! (One of my Hobby project, I’ve created 18 Star Trek Fan Films I plan to Animate as 40 Minute VR Holodeck Episodes) You can about them here: .

I have created Immersive 3D 360° VR Renders of the Enterprise Sets as I finish then upload as a VR Video to youtube.

Thanks buddy,
Robert
