Why does my picture quality change when I click play key?

That’s what you get when your screen percentage value is below 100. Raise it and you should get your expected result.

Hey gansorx,

I can see the issue you are having, but I need a bit more information in order to assist you. When you press play, are you playing in a separate window, stand-alone game, or within the editor itself? If playing in a separate window or stand-alone game the resolution of your window can affect the overall visual quality of your scene. Try pressing Play in Editor (PIE) to see if your scene quality changes.

Thank you,

I try it, but no use…

PIE is the same. all are the same.

Ok no problem,

I have a couple more suggestions to help you with this issue. Go in to your project settings and within the Rendering settings under the Engine field, look for your “Default Post Processing Settings.” Be sure your settings have Temporal AA or FXAA in order to reduce the stair step affect. These settings can also be changed within your graphics card as well.

In accordance with making sure these settings are correct and on, be sure you have a post process volume in your scene with the bounds of the volume around the area in which you wish to render you scene. Within your Post Process Volume you can also turn on/off or switch your Anti-aliasing Method (AA). Let me know if these help you.

Thanks for your answer very much, it works.

You are welcome. Let us know if you need anything else!
