Fullscreen on a dual monitor setup crash Windows

After packaging an app and running it in Windowed mode, if I try to switch it to full screen mode, my screens become black and I can’t access Windows anymore, I’m forced to reboot my computer.

Also an interesting note: if I use only one monitor, game goes in fullscreen mode and works well (this may be a dual screen relative problem).

How do I fix this?

Thank you for your answer, I attached additional infos and log in my question.

Hi RootKernal,

Unfortunately, that post does not include another important folder that we need information from as well. We will have to update that.

We will also need AppCrash folder from this location:

C: \ Users \ [Your Computer Name] \ AppData \ Local \ Microsoft \ Windows \ WER \ ReportQueue

AppData is a Hidden Systems folder. So you will need to unhide your systems folder to locate this one. Or just type in folder location in “Run” from start menu to go directly to it. Any folders in here please delete them and then make crash happen again. This will create a new folder that you will need to contents of and post here for me as well.

Thank you and apologies for this not being listed in that other thread.

Tim

Hi Tim,

No problem, sadly this folder remains empty.

In fact I don’t know if game crashed or not because my screens turn black and I’m forced to restart my computer.

Hi,

I’ve gone ahead and submitted a bug report (JIRA - 4460) for this issue with your log even though I’m not able to repro this on my end.

If you figure out any additional information that may be linked please feel free to post here and I’ll take a look. I’ll update as well if I have any new information.

Thank you!

Tim

Another question for you on this one. Is this happening on any project you package or is it your own custom project?

Hi Tim, any project I’m afraid.

Can you list your steps for you packaging project? Is there any settings that are being changed?
