Attach a skeletal mesh to my character

I searched for a lot of tutorials or explanation on internet but I didn’t find an answer to my question.

Why are my skelatal meshes attaching to the middle (the root component I suppose) of my character instead of the socket I speciffy in my BP ? I tried the same thing with static meshes and it is working (at least it change the location when I change the socket even if my meshes is flying with a distance to my socket…)

Do you know what am I doing wrong ?

I found the answer myself, it was just a problem of casting to my mesh
