How to import only fbx animation files into your project?

Hey Guys! I’ve downloaded some free animations. But I’m not been able to import them into my project. It asks for a skeleton, but I don’t have one that matches.

So, how can I import those animations?

Please Help. Thanks.

Hello!

Can you provide any more details about what it was you downloaded, perhaps with a link or images? Was it from the Unreal Engine marketplace?
Let us know and I’ll get back to you asap!

@Jeremy Ernst No, I haven’t downloaded it from unreal marketplace. These are just skeleton animations. No Mesh. This is the error I’m getting while importing.

First, sorry it took a while to get back to you. It’s been crazy here

So that error sounds like the animation possibly doesn’t have any Hips animation? That sounds odd though and probably isn’t the case. What mesh is this being imported onto?
I think if we could see a screenshot of the outliner of the fbx animation file in maya of the hierarchy, and then a screen of the skeleton tree of the mesh you want to play the animation on so we can compare the hierarchies, that would be helpful!
