Changed simulated bone behavior in 4.5?

I was using simulated bones for my characters hair and now after upgrading to version 4.5 from the launcher I can’t get it to behave like before. When the bones collide with my characters body they behave erratically and imposing swing limits on them don’t seem to have any effect. Is this something on my end, or was there indeed changes to the way collisions are done?
