[Request] Simple change -> Blueprint highlight lines of selected node

I am dealing with a web of BP right now and have difficulty seeing what goes where. It would help me a lot, and be a very simple change, if the all the lines of whatever I have selected glow up.

Similar to how you get a brighter line when you hover over one of the connection inputs or outputs on a node, I’d like all the lines that are connected to the currently selected note to get a different color or become brighter.

I want to be able to select something, and then easily follow the line and see where in the web of connections it goes. The highlighting by hovering doesn’t work well when you deal with long distances because it gets so zoomed out you don’t see exactly where the line came from or what you are hovering over with your mouse.

Sounds like a good suggestion. This was a common issue with more complex shaders/kismet in UE3 as well.

Hi Sjoerd,

Thank you for your feedback. This has been requested by another user in this post:

It has been assigned and prioritized by our staff. Please let us know if there is anything else that you would like to see in the engine.

Cheers!

Hi,

That can be nice also but that request is I believe more for manually coloring them. I am looking for something that automatically highlights all lines connected to the selected node. Otherwise you’d always have to click the node → change color → see where it goes → unset the color. That would take a lot of time to do all the time, though would also be a nice feature to have.

Kismet in UE3 did the same thing, so I am basically requesting the way Kismet handled it.

Hi Sjoerd,

This is matches to the second part of the request that was in the link I had posted before:

It can be easier to have the SELECTED NODE change its link color (to another bright color, such as orange) which will make it easier to see where it’s connected to.

This request is now in our database. Please let me know if there is anything else that you would like to see in the editor.

Cheers!

Alexander
