Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Getting Heightmap from Google Maps

I want to create the village i grew up in and thought it would be a lot easier if I could export a height map from something like Google Maps and then import into Unreal Engine and skip all that work. Any tips on how this could be done?

I looked into this awhile ago and didn't find a good option either. Maybe you could try 3D scan software?

You could do a fly through of the landscape or rotate around a detail of interest and grab lots of screenshots, then upload it to Autodesk ReCap. You might be able to generate the topology that way.

Yea, sadly think that's a bit out my expertise area.

Yea already gone trough that thread :/. The only viable link in there was to a thread made in 2008. Sadly that way doesn't work as of now due to it being so old :( They had a great way for US but since I live in EU that doesn't work for me.
