What is the current level of Linux support?

Is there a working Linux support? I didn’t see Linux (desktop, not Android) mentioned in the FAQ or anywhere else at all.

Thanks.

It depends on the level of support. We currently support Linux as a server platform (and you can cross-compile dedicated server targets for it).

Well, I keep seeing people saying Linux support for client is in works (Linux desktop and SteamOS). Is it something officially planned or is the server platform going to be the only one officially supported, and Linux client will have to be implemented by developers individually ?

We are going to maintain (which is what I think “official support” means in this context :-)) code for Linux, both server and client. Of course, the more attention (and most importantly - testing and practical use!) it gets from the community, the better its quality going to be, but you won’t have to reimplement everything yourself, unless you want to target something that we are not inclined to support (e.g. talking to your favorite display server directly instead of using SDL).
