Cinema 4D export Sofa Overlapping UV

Hi there, I have a trouble… I have a Sofa mesh in Cinema 4D with two tag layer, export and import in Unreal Engine 4, but I get always UV Overlapping…

Hi Michsaporito,

Can you post two screenshots for me from within UE4? I’d like to see how your UVs are in UE4 since this is where the issue is happening.

Open your mesh in the mesh viewer/editor and click the UVs button to display the UV. Take a shot of the UV 0 (Diffuse UV) and UV 1 (Lightmap). You will need to use the drop down that says UV channel next to the UV button on the bar to change between the two. If there is only one. This is fine as well.

When you get the overlapping UV error, what percent does it say the mesh has overlapping UVs? If it’s a large amount this can be more easily identified. If it’s a smaller number you may need to check in Maya that you have no overlapping faces. Even though it may not seem like it there should be an option to see overlapping faces in the UV. I’m not sure where exactly since I use 3Ds Max.

Thank you!

Tim
