Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"

Unreal Engine Units?

Hey guys! I'm so confused. :( I've created a building model in 3ds max for UE4 and I used the correct parameters same as the building plan. I've imported that and it's so unproportional. Any idea what should I change to get the realistic rate? I know 1m in 3ds max is 1 unit in my max model. What should I change in 3d max to get it right? The correct values are: my building floor is 3.5m high. I've placed a box to compare. If 200 UU is 200cm, it's not really right. So my model should be 1.5 times higher. than my box. alt text

Hello rugabi,

It appears that your model is 100 times too small. This is because when you imported the model from 3ds Max you were using meters. The engine uses centimeters. Max is only telling the engine the number of units involved in the scale of your model. In this case it is 3.5 units high (in Max these units are set to meters). The engine says "ok 3.5 units" and gives you a model that is 3.5 centimeters high. In short you need to set your units in 3ds Max to centimeters instead of meters. I hope this helps
