Cursor Coordinate Problem

Hello,

My cursor coordinates seem to be off, for example, When I go to click the minimize button in the top right corner, my cursor actually needs to be placed slightly to the right (on the maximize icon), when I place my cursor on the maximize icon, the minimize icon highlights orange, and when I click, it will minimize. This happens with every icon. I hope this makes sense.

another example would be if I place my cursor on the “X” (close) icon in the top right corner…it actually highlights the maximize icon slightly to the left of where my cursor appears to be.

This only happens in UE4, not other programs on my computer.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thank you!

Justin

Hi Justin,

Is this happening anywhere else in the editor or just when clicking the upper taskbar?

Also, which version of the editor are you using and what is your monitor resolution set to?

Yes this is happening for every button within UE4, my version is fully up to date.

My screen resolution is 1366 x 786.

Thank you for the reply!
I hope we can get this solved.

Could you post a copy of your dxdiag?

If you are on Windows you can find it by going to the Start Menu and typing dxdiag into the search bar. Once opened, click the ‘Save All Information’ button and upload the file here.

Here is the file you requested to see! Sorry for the late reply, I live in Tokyo so the time difference is difficult

Thanks again!

Try adjusting the resolution of your PC to something other than 1366x786 and see if that helps.

Also, do you have an additional Graphics Card other than your on-board card? According to your dxdiag you only have the Mobile Intel(R) HD Graphics card which is an on-board card. If so, your laptop is a bit below recommended specs and that can sometimes cause rendering errors and odd behavior.

No this is my only graphics card, I dont seem to have any trouble with rendering, just the problem of my cursor being a little bit off… very strange haha

The 4.6 Preview is now out. Could you download that engine version and see if this is still an issue for you?

If it does work, I wouldn’t recommend porting your project to 4.6 just yet, the official version will be out soon. Just try it out in a new project.

Hi Jheller1,

We haven’t heard back from you in a few days, so we are marking this post as Resolved for tracking purposes. If you’re still experiencing this issue, please feel free to post back here with additional information.

Thanks,

TJ
