Foliage painting on "Landscape Layer" doesn't work

The foliage tool can also use a
Landscape layer as a mask - for
example, if you want certain foliage
meshes to only appear on the grass
layer on the Landscape, they won’t be
placed on areas with rock or snow as
you paint over an area.

I enter in “Landscape Layer” (Foliage Mode in Unreal Engine | Unreal Engine 5.3 Documentation) name of layer, and try paint with foliage, but foliage painting everywhere, on all layers.

Hi ,

In the foliage settings, did you make sure to type the name of the layer you wanted into the searchbar?

Hello .
Searchbar? What do you mean?
I enter name of layer like simple text, “searchbar” does not pop up.
And i check my foliage settings, name of layer is correct, see my screenshot

Hi , I was referring to the “Landscape Layer” option near the bottom of the foliage settings. I see that you have it set to grass. In the areas that you are seeing it paint, did you, at any point in time, have grass painted on that area? If so it may be that there is still a little bit of paint left. If any grass exists, even if blended with other layers, the foliage will be able to be placed.

Answer to your question: Yes, grass have painted on that area.
The “Grass layer” don’t blended with other layers.

Bug is gone!
I just create new landscape, and bug is gone.
But foliage tool don’t stable, sometime crash if paint.
Sorry, but i don’t save terrain with my bug.

I am happy to hear that it is now working, if you could make a new post about your crash so we can separate the errors and better assist you it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Thank you!
