Why is the Euro price higher than the Dollar?

First, thanks to make UE4 avaible with such a nice offer!

I’ve started to fill the required form to get UE4,
when i’ve see that the price for eurozone was not 19 $ but 19€ (wich is 26 $ ^^’ ).
It’s not a big deal for me but is it really justified to do such a conversion?
I’ll gladly paid to get the UE4 at this price, but as many european here (i think)
we’d appreciate a honest answer to this question.

Not sure but I think it’s the same because it includes VAT

When you knock off VAT @20% 19EUR becomes 15.20EUR which is $20.90. Still more in terms of numbers but in terms of what you can buy? I think what could I buy for $19? Can I buy the same for 19EUR?

Thanks for your interest in UE4. VAT varies from country-to-country across Europe, but in order to simplify, Epic chose a single Eurozone price aimed at fairly capturing VAT and credit card processing fees. Another complicating factor is the fluctuating nature of different currencies’ relative value, but we hope 19€ represents a good value for you.

Thanks for your answer canon.

19€ in germany is actually around 26$, means around +35% compared to the 19$ … not really good from my point of view
