Window Tab Collapsed in Torn out Window is Inaccessable under Window Context Menu

Inaccessible Orange Arrow under certain window layouts:

An easy way to reproduce this issue is the following:

(Reset the layout so you can follow along)

1: In the main UE4 interface, click on the little orange arrow to show the view port window tab.

2: Tear the tab out of the main window so it becomes a separate floating window outside the main interface window.

3: Right click the tab and click “Hide Tab”

Now… attempt to click the orange arrow to show the view port tab again, the Context menu “U” symbol is in the way and it is not possible to click the orange arrow underneath.

Possible Solution: Move the “U” context right as to expose the Orange Triangle underneath.

Affected Versions: 4.5.1 and earlier.

Hey -

Thank you for reporting this issue. I was able to reproduce this problem and have submitted it to our internal tracking database for further investigation (UE-5589). If you still need to redock the viewport window you can click Windows->Viewports and select a different viewport (viewport 3 for example). This should open a new viewport with the tab showing that you can then redock.

Cheers

Hello,

I am resurrecting this thread, but this seems to still be an issue with the latest version. I have hidden the tab of the “modes” window, and it’s impossible to get it back.

Hey IndieGameModels-

I’ve updated the original report for this issue which can be found here Unreal Engine Issues and Bug Tracker (UE-5044) . You can track the report’s status as the issue is reviewed by our development staff.
