Landscape interaction with second landscape

Hi guys,

I’m trying to create a communication line between 2 landscapes in my level.
What I am trying to do is have a water plane (landscape 1) and the terrain bumpmap (landscape 2) to get the info of WHERE they overlap in order to spawn a 2d particle system there to simulate waves or foam at the beach line.

I realise people have been trying to recreate the ‘cryengine’ style open ocean, which is the idea I’m going for just on a simpler level. I’m hoping that by opening a line of communication between the 2 landscapes I can get vector locations of the terrain-water hit.
