Will my laptop's gtx m series gpu work well with UE4?

Hi there, i’m seriously considering using UE4 for my next project but i do a lot of dev work away from the office on my laptop. Just wondering if there is an gtx m series gpu that will run it nicely, if so what would be the minimum. My laptop uses a gtx 670m gpu.

Cheers

Thank you for your patience. Based on the specs of that card, I would say that it would be underpowered compared to the recommended:

“NVIDIA GeForce 470 GTX or AMD Radeon 6870 HD series card or higher”

From here:Häufig gestellte Fragen - Unreal Engine

Please note, I cannot predict your experience off of a card alone. The Unreal Editor can run on some lower spec systems, but it is most likely not going to be a very good experience. To cope with the low resolution, you can enable small icons, and use the editor’s tab system to combine the tabs on the left and right sides of the screen together. Be prepared to switch tabs frequently.

Also, for laptop use, it’s very beneficial to buy a mouse with two buttons and a wheel rather than using the trackpad. The required system specs there are the minimum needed to run with a good experience that we can recommend and endorse. It will often run on machines below these specs, but less pleasantly.

I hope this helps to clarify any of your concerns.

I am using a 650m nVidia, I had problems with previous UE4.0.2, but 4.1 runs nicely although I get around 15fps at best with it, it will do for working away form home or showing updates to clients.

I have an laptop with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M with 2GB of RAM and it runs great.
