Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Why is the root point of a Blueprint random?

I basically like to make a prefab of some geometry in my level, the only solution I have is a BP but when I make a blueprint out of my perfectly aligned assets I get a root point in it that has a random offset with something like 0.433132. Is there any way around that?

I already tried making a perfect box around everything to see if that changes it but it is also a random root point with it.

Hi Davision,

Could you provide some screenshot showing us exactly what you are talking about? When I create a BP with the default Cube from the Starter Content as the root component, it is located at X: 0.000 Y: 0.000 Z: 0.000.

I found out later that I could replace the generated root point with a actual asset of the BP and then I got my perfect 1.0000 locations back. When you do it with a single asset in your level it probably works with 0.000 but when you make it with several you get a generated root component in your BP. All your other components in your BP will then have messy positions like 0.3454246

What steps are you using to create a blueprint with multiple assets?
