Showing an outline of an actor through other meshes

Similar to when you select things within the engine (The small orange outline appears around the mesh - http://i.imgur.com/XoLg5r0.png ) and you can view this through others meshes and such. How would I approach doing this within game: For example if I threw a ball around a corner and then it appears with an outline around it.
