UE4 crashes when importing staticmesh from 3ds max

I have two quite similar meshes that i need to import from 3ds max to UE4. Its two “pipes”, one T pipe and one with one more exit, a 4 pipe (like a + if you will). The T pipe imports fine, but the + pipe makes UE4 crash. I have no clue what the reason could be and its driving me mad

here are both the meshes: Dropbox - File Deleted - Simplify your life
(uvw’s are only a test and they are crap)

Thanks!

Hey Stetsix,

I was able to import both meshes you provided without any problems occurring. I tested it in the 4.6 preview as well as 4.5.1. Which version of the engine are you running?

A couple of things you could try which might resolve your issue. Try renaming your .fbx files to something like “FourPipe” and “ThreePipe” to get rid of any spaces or unique characters. Also try polishing up the UV’s of your meshes as well. If neither of these suggestions work, let me know and I will assist further.

Thanks,
