Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Mesh particle emitter collision

I have been following Zak's tutorial about making mesh patricle emitters. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psoTTXS7844∈dex=110&list=PLZlv_N0_O1gaCL2XjKluO7N2Pmmw9pvhE

Since the cow mesh he is using is not available in the most current version, I just used a simple NarrowCapsule instead. But what is happening is, when I add the collision module, it collides about 50 units above its colliding point, no matter where I place the emitter or the colliding ground. What can be causing this?

There is a way to track this problem? I can still reproduce this in 4.8.3

Hi mcleary -

UE-3853 is still be worked on and currently is backlogged in status. Currently there is no public facing method of tracking bug reports, but you can always ask on the original question and we are happy to tell you the status here.

As a workaround you can adjust the collision offset in the negative direction.

Hi Eric, we face the same issue here in our 4.10 project. What collision offset are you referring to?

Within the particle system editor (Cascade), there is a collision section where you can offset the particle emitters collision.
