I can't find the starter content, even when selecting "With starting content" in the New Project widow.

Hello, I come from using the previous version of Ue4, and now that I have updated, I can’t find the Starting content. I have seen in these forums that most of those who had the problem were forgetting to select “With starting content” in the new project window, but if I create a project with that selected, y only hace four folders in the content browser: Game, Engine, Paper2D, and characterAi.

Hi JoeThws,

Which version of the editor are you currently using?

4.5.1, In win7 64 bits.

I just tested this in-house but I couldn’t get your results. Does this happen with every template or just the Paper2D template?

Try Verifying your 4.5.1 install, this will sometimes repair an issue if there is one.

If that still doesn’t work, try uninstalling that version and reinstalling it.

This happens with every template, even when opening a new blank project. The folders are the same in every template (the “paper 2d” folder appears in every project I create, regardless of the template.) Here is a screenshot of an unmodified third person template. See how there are only 4 folders.
As veryfing my install, I don’t know how to do it. I cannot find something like the picture you sent me, not even an “Engines” tab.

I will try reinstalling.

It’s in the Launcher under the Library tab. You should be able to just hit the yellow dropdown button on the 4.5.1 engine version.

Hi JoeThws,

We haven’t heard back from you in a few days, so we are marking this post as Resolved for tracking purposes. If you’re still experiencing this issue, please try to verify your install and then post back here with the results.

Thanks,

TJ

i have same problem " missing starter content" and cant add it back!!!

Hi acuraracer,

This issue is quite dated and there has been numerous updates to the Launcher and editor. Could you post this as a new report in the Installation and Setup section?

Thanks,

TJ

I suggest adding it manually. Very easy and no hacks

  1. In the content browser (pane on bottom) click the green “Add New” button
  2. Click “Add Feature or Content Pack”
  3. 3rd tab
