Will UE4 run on my system specs?

Dear Epic Games,

In the hardware specs I’m reading ‘DESKTOP PC’! Does this mean that Unreal Engine 4 can better not be installed and/or that it’s editor can better not run on my Alienware M14x Gaming LAPTOP?!

My Alienware M14x specs are:
3rd generation Intel Core i7-3630QM (6MB Cache, up to 3.4Ghz w/ Turbo Boost 2.0) (4 cores)
8192MB 1600Mhz DDR3 Dual Channel memory (can upgrade to max 16GB)
2GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M Graphics
Windows 8 64bit

Hope to hear from you…

I don’t understand the above posted answer (the screenshot) in relation to my question ?!?!

You can easily run UE4 on that laptop!

Cool!!!

Than, my other system, a 3 years old Alienware Aurora desktop, with the following specs:
Processor, i7-960, 3.2, 8MB, Bloomfield (4 cores)
12GB memory
Though (at the moment) only ONE single AMD Radeon HD 6870 with 1GB dedicated memory GPU
Windows 7 64bit

This PC has PCIe 2.1 slots only, so upgrading my videocard is kind of limited. Only the AMD Radeon HD 6000 series are fit for my PCIe slots; from their 7000 series on and up, PCI 3.0 seems te be required.
I can easily buy a second HD 6870 1GB card though, to set up the two 6870 cards in Crossfire; would this matter when I want UE4 to run on this system as well?!

So I would like to know:
Can I safely run UE4 with a single HD 6870 1GB card?! (I’m aware of the fact that according to the official UE4 hardware specifications, a single HD 6870 is MINIMUM)
How will UE4 behave when I set up two HD 6870 1GB cards in Crossfire in my desktop system; will there be much difference in comparison to the single card situation?!

After this, no more questions as of now!

Anybody?! An answer to my Crossfire question?!

It will work. PCI-E is backwards compatible. I have an AMD 7950 Black Edition in my old pci-e 2.1 motherboard, i can run crysis 3 all max at 120fps, tomb raider at 80fps, etc so, I don’t have performance issues… In my experience crossfire with 6870 is not a great idea… for compatibility just get one amd 7000 series… or something superior, and btw, keep always in mind the power supply for 7000 series+ or for crossfire…

My Alienware desktop is having a 875W power supply…

How will UE4 behave with ONE AMD Radeon HD 6870 1GB though?

@RAKSHASRAJA

You may want to take a look at this thread on the forums where users are listing their hardware and their experience with running the editor. [Compatibility List] Unreal 4 - Hardware Feedback - Feedback for Unreal Engine team - Unreal Engine Forums

If you are now using the editor, it may be a great idea to include your information on the list.

Cheers.

I’m not using the editor as of now. I’m still finishing something on UDK. I will step up to UE4 within a couple of months, though! For the sake of my username, I already created an account here. I will inculde my information later, for sure!
