REQUEST: Reroute in Materials

Please give me reroute nodes in the material editor. That place makes me want to cry. T_T

I know this is an old post (well, not that old), but I second this motion. The reroute node in the material editor would be really useful, especially when the materials start to become quite complicated. Hopefully, the developers will see this topic.

I use the ‘PassThrough’ node for routing wires in the material editor.

Although a reroute node working like the one in the blueprint editor would be easier/faster to use and a much appreciated addition!

Not to Zombie this post, but i would really appreciate a Port of the Blueprint Reroute node as well.

the more noise we make the sooner it gets done.

This feature request was placed a while back as UE-6882. I have upped the community interest in getting it, but currently it is backlogged.

To explain a little bit on why this will take some time. While Blueprints and the Material Editor are cosmetically similar, the pin structure and coding that results from that structure is radically different, so unfortunately it is not as easy as copying the reroute pin from Blueprints into the Material Editor. I do know that it is a feature we are strongly wanting but it is not as high on the road map as other features and fixes.

The issue is still marked as backlogged, meaning that the developers are focusing their efforts elsewhere at the current time.
