Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Is Visual Studio Community Supported For 4.6?

It used to work in 4.5, it doesn't seem to be working since I upgraded. Visual Studio tells me the project cannot be opened in "this version of Visual Studio".

This version of Visual Studio is unable to open the following projects. The project types may not be installed or this version of Visual Studio may not support them.
For more information on enabling these project types or otherwise migrating your assets, please see the details in the "Migration Report" displayed after clicking OK.

 Non-functional changes required
Visual Studio will automatically make non-functional changes to the following projects in order to enable them to open in Visual Studio 2013, Visual Studio 2012, and Visual Studio 2010 SP1. Project behavior will not be impacted.

There must be something wrong with your setup because other people are using the Community edition of VS without problems. Here is one report confirming it works: https://forums.unrealengine.com/showthread.php?55592-Does-UnrealVS-extension-work-on-Visual-Studio-Community

It appears that it is not supported. Changing to Express meant I was able to compile again.
