Modeling and Rendering

I’m looking for a software to learn about 3D modeling. Any body can give me an advice? I’m 100% clearly beginner and there’re so many software I don’t know which to choose: 3DS Max (common), Blender, Z-Brush, Cinema 4D,…

I just want to start by making simple object like table, lamp, car, pack bag,…etc…any small object you can think of. What software should I choose for a beginner?

Hi DevilKard,

The most commonly used modeling software would have to be 3Ds Max and Maya for game dev. These are paid software. Blender is a good free one as well.

Pretty much any software that can export OBJ or FBX file formats is good to use. It all comes down to personal preference at that point and of course financials. It’s hard to argue with free.

Z-Brush on the other hand, is similar to Mudbox and other sculpting software that is great for getting High-Poly meshes that you can then generate your Low-Poly.

If you’re looking to get started I would recommend trying Blender since it’s free and there are plenty of tutorials out there to get you started using it. If you’re a student and get access to 3Ds Max/Maya I would also recommend these. My personal preference is Max since that’s what I started with.
