[Bug/Performance] Performance problems BSP, Nav auto updaters

  • Update Automatically Navigation and BSP need update by zones or something because the performance is poor, i got large freezes and fps drops to 10fps in the editor for example in ctf ut maps.
  • Optimize the scene capture camera non 2D because eat all engine fps from the cap to 45fps.

Based on the information given, I have a three pronged attack for this problem. It’s two parts knowledge and one part hard work.

  1. I have a link for you that will send you to a twitch stream that covers how to optimize your Navigation mesh settings

  2. Under your project settings you will find two check boxes under the Navigation Systems section. Which can be found in the picture below.
  3. Finally, if there are a lot of BSPs in your level you will need to start systematically replacing them with static meshes. This should provide a good bump in performance.

This is a temporal fix but the BSP need a fix because rebuild all time in menu to see the 3D Brush is a joke…

That, as I mentioned, was one of three possible solutions of which any combination or exclusion of the the three, save for the exclusion of all three, would boost performance. As for BSPs, these are meant to be used as temporary placeholders for quick mock ups and the reduction of bottle necking due to any finalized art assets not being available. They are meant to be used with the full intent of replacement in the end product. Here is a helpful example of what I mean:
