UE4 is automatically loading unwanted content into my scene

Hi guys… i ran into a this problem today, i am new to UE4 so please help me out. Whenever i hit simulate or play, UE4 load unwanted content into my scene. As you can see in the screenshot, it automatically loads objects out of nowhere and give this warning that i need to rebuild lighting. Unwanted content looks like starter kit objects, its like a whole level loads alongside with my content. Now i did fiddle with some settings in UE but i was trying to get my lighting correct. Maybe i did something or maybe not, but i cannot figure out what… please help me

Open up Levels window(Window> Levels) and see if you have any other level than the persistent one. If not, then look through Scene Outliner and see if those meshes exist there.

Thank you so much for replying, there are no extra meshes in the scene outliner, however there is an extra level called startermap in Windows>levels but i dont know how to remove/unlink it from there. there is no option

Load that level and then right click again and see if you have Remove Selected option enabled.

nope, tried that already, There is no option to remove/delete it. I am using version 4.4, could it be that this option is somewhere else in this version?

Weird. The oldest version i have installed is 4.5 so i dont remember how to fix this in 4.4. A workaround is to Make Current > select everything in that level an then delete them.

Hi the3dsgeek,

I just tested this in 4.4 and this is the context menu I have. I’m not sure why you aren’t seeing the same thing.

However, you should be able to just select the level and press Delete to remove it. Let us know if that works.

Thanks TJ and jacky, but this option does not show in my menu also Delete key just unloads the level, it doesn’t actually delete it. I had to manually delete the level from MyProjects/maps folder. For now its working(since there is no extra level left to load) but not a permanent solution in case i need another level, because its loads both levels at the same time for some reason. Thanks for your help guys, i really appreciate the time you spend helping folks like me.

This isn’t the normal behaviour of the engine so something must have gone wrong in the project as you worked on it. It also makes things easier to start with a blank project and migrate whatever content you need from other projects, in order to minimize the possibility of issues like this. Let us know if you run into this again in the future.
