Only Nvidia optimized?

I have a AMD laptop and I would like to buy the engine, but I’m afraid since its a laptop good optimizations would be very important to running the UE4 good. But I heard the devs only worked with Nvidia to optimize it, not with AMD, also no AMD features like Mantle or True Audio. Is this correct? They said it looks and works best with Geforce so I don’t think this will be the right choice for my laptop. Anyone with a AMD laptop too and can say how it performs? Any Unreal devs here who can answer that?

HD 8750M 2 GB
AMD A8 5557m, Quad Core 4x2.5 GHz
8 GB DDR3 1600

I’m really interested in that engine, if it would be AMD optimized, but all I heard is Nvidia.

That is a false assumption really. The majority of the performance issues are coming from mobile GPU’s, and most of the problem’s i’ve heard so far are Nvidia.(Actually there is someone having better framerate with an AMD mobile gpu that i heard yesterday) So i would say you are equally doomed or maybe even luckier than Nvidia users.
