msi Installer not working on WIN 8.1, stops at directX

Hello,

I have this error when installing the unreal engine, at the point of directx. It does a full rollback afterwards, so there are no files. I have win 8.1 and a msi gt72 dominator with direct x11.
I searched for this, but couldn’t find a solution here.

Hey pyrocat,

You hardware should work no problem with UE4 so that is not the issue.

Have you already downloaded/installed the required DirectX 2010 Redistibutable package? If not install that and then try to install UE4 again.
