Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Could you add support for Walt Disney's ptex guys, it's the future of UV mapping and would make Rocket/UE4 texture/material system revolutionary :)

Hello David,

We appreciate the feature request. However, PTex is intended for higher end rendering and we do not expect to be able to integrate it into UE4.

Ptex is for offline rendering and isn't suitable for real time applications like games. Yes there are real time authoring tools, but they aren't the same and they have very heavy overheads.

I could write up a hefty number of reasons as to why, but it looks like this blog post has a lot of points covered: http://sebastiansylvan.com/2012/06/23/casting-a-critical-eye-on-gpu-ptex/
