Issue with Animation Starter Pack and Mixamo Animation Pack

Hello all,

I’m trying to use the Idle_Pistol animation with Zoe from the Mixamo Animation Pack. The rig has been retargeted according to the instructions at https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Engine/Animation/RetargetingDifferentSkeletons/index.html . The skeleton has recursively had its Translation Retarget set to Skeleton.

For the most part, things look pretty good - but the hand positions are off. Below are pics of Idle_Pistol on our friend Hero and Zoe

Does anyone have any thoughts on what would cause this and how to correct it?

For anyone curious, UE4.7 introduced a way to correct this within Persona. Here are the steps I took:

  • Go to the animation tab in Persona
  • Select the animation in question
  • Go to the animation tab in Persona, select the animation in question
  • Select the LeftForeArm bone
  • Press ‘S’ on the keyboard
  • Rotate,translate as desired
  • Hit Apply (above the preview window)

Here are the results. It’s not perfect, but it is close enough for my purposes:
