Unhandled exception PhysX3PROFILE_x64.dll

Just had a crash on 4.6.1 that looks like it originated from the core? I was simulating gameplay with bots when a bunch of them fired grenades at each other, right when they were about to explode the game crashed. I would attach the dump but the filetype is not permitted

Hi Mentos,

Upload your dxdiag, Crash Log, and Dmp file. If you zip the file before upload they will post correctly. Follow the link below for more info on where to find them.

Has this been a one time crash? Have you been able to reproduce it?

If so, would you be willing to private message me a link to download your project so we can reproduce it in-house?

I’ve sent you a private message on the UE4 forums with a link to a project to reproduce this.

Hi Mentos,

Thanks for sending us a test project, I was easily able to reproduce the issue. I have entered JIRA UE-7034 and attached that project. Our developers will be looking into it further. We will post back as soon as we have something.

Cheers,

TJ

TJ,

Glad it was easily reproducible, those are the best kinds of bugs. Happy to be of any help to Epic  Thanks for the update!

Best,
George

Hi George,

Could you try the latest 4.7.2 release and see if this is still an issue for you? It was very likely fixed with a PhysX update in that version.

Hey TJ,

Unfortunately it looks like this crash is still present in 4.7.2

I will pm you a link to a new 4.7.2 project that reproduces this.

Best,
George

Hey sorry George, I didn’t realize that 4.7.2 doesn’t have the fixes that you need. They are actually going to be included in 4.8. It’s the PhysX 3.3.3 update.

If you are using the Source version of the editor, please feel free to test your project in the latest Promoted branch on Github.

I was hoping to test this for you but everything that is stripped out of the test project causes it to not convert/compile correctly.

I meet this issue seem like this case, Our game is going to publish soon, but crash, Please help me, as soon as posible, thank you,

Windows x64 parketed version, UE4.7.6, Thanks,

Hi Alex,

I mentioned below, the fix for this is likely in the new PhysX 3.3.3 that is part of 4.8. 4.8 is in Preview mode now and the full release should be out soon.

Sorry to reopen an old thread but I’m getting the same kind of error in 4.15 when I’m loading a large level with foliage that has collision. Could this be a regression?

Hi QSBen,

This post is fairly old and what you are seeing could be totally unrelated. Would you mind creating a new post in the bug report section? Make sure to reference this post in the description and try to give as much info as possible.

Thanks,

TJ
