How I reproduced crash:
I opened Blender (I use 2.72b) and exported cube in fbx that is there by default.
After that I created a new project (I use TPS BP template) in UE4 (4.6.1).
Then I imported mesh and opened it in mesh editor, then I applied auto convex collision on it with default settings. At this point I get a crash report.
I am using OS X Yosemite 10.10.1.
I don’t know whether I do something unsupported or this is really a bug.
This is a known bug with Auto Convex Collision on OSX that we have reported in UE-6328. I will keep an eye on that report and let you know when I see an update on it. Thanks for report!
, Is this problem anywhere near to its solution? 4.7p5 still has it.
I understand it may be not high on list but it’s a useful tool for prototyping. Right now I spend a lot of time fiddling in Maya just to see if things work as I though they would. These experiments are taking much more time that they could’ve.
It looks like crash is not in engine, but in a third-party library called HACD which is no longer supported. developers think they have found an alternative library called v-HACD, which they plan to evaluate and switch to if possible. Hopefully this will not be a problem after switch. There is no timeline for this yet, but it is being evaluated currently. Thanks for your patience!
developers had planned to look into it after GDC, so I don’t have an update for you yet. If we do switch, I would expect to see it in release notes for version we switch in.
