I am trying to open a file on a different computer and across updates (udk3 to udk4)

I went to a summer camp that taught UDK. I built a really big map on the laptop at the camp, and now I can’t open it on my home computer. I used UDK 3 at the camp, and I have UDK 4 at home. I don’t think that the difference would stall anything, Is it impossible to open a UDK3 file in UDK4? I new to UDK 4 and I spent a week on UDK 3, please help.

Hi,

There is no “official” way to do this since the two engines are not compatible in a drag and drop sense.

However, a user has made a tool that can possibly help with this process. It is not officially supported so that means Epic will not be able to assist with any issues regarding it.

You can have a look here for yourself: [Tool] UDK T3D to Unreal 4 T3D Tool - World Creation - Epic Developer Community Forums

I hope this works out for you!
