Using HUD BP vs UMG

Since the sample projects all use a BP HUD, but the UMG features seem way more powerful with easy animation and placement for HUD elements, is it just as good if not better to use a UMG widget as the main player HUD instead of the standard BP HUD class? Just was curious as both seem like valid options.

You should use UMG, sample projects use HUD BP because umg was released not long ago.

I figured that this could be the case! As long as there isn’t a benefit for using the older method, I’ll go 100% UMG! It was nice to be able to specify which HUD BP to use depending on gametype though! I guess you could call the UMG widget inside of the HUD BP?
