Renaming map crash

Renaming my map causes the editor to crash every time.

This happens with 4.7 preview and 4.6.1.

I am using Windows 8.1 x64

I am at a loss because this is just one of many crashes I am getting that are making it nearly impossible to use the editor. Something is seriously wrong here.

Hi Crafty,

We just need a little more info. How exactly are you renaming your map? And by ‘map’ do you mean the level or the entire project?

Also, please upload your dxdiag (system info) and the Logs & DMP files generated from the crash. The link below has directions on how to find this info.

The level, so the .umap file - and I’m renaming it in the content browser. It would appear there are no relevant memory dumps in C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportQueue.

It won’t let me attach the .dmp file I found in the project Log folder, but you can get it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3rnagAkb8ozY0F6Tkp5aFFUWDg/view?usp=sharing

Browsing the log file I can see:

Fatal error: [File:D:\BuildFarm\buildmachine_++depot+UE4-Releases+4.7\Engine\Source\Runtime\CoreUObject\Private\UObject\Obj.cpp] [Line: 115]
Renaming an object (LevelScriptBlueprint /Game/Maps/Coast.Coast:PersistentLevel.Example_Map) on top of an existing object (StaticMeshActor /Game/Maps/Coast.Coast:PersistentLevel.coast) is not allowed

Besides renaming, did you happen to move any levels or assets to or from the Maps folder?

Hi Crafty,

We haven’t heard back from you in a few days, so we are marking this post as resolved for tracking purposes. If you’re still experiencing this issue, please feel free to post back here with additional information.

Cheers,
